COURSE DESCRIPTION
Yorke Institute’s Program CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support is designed for those with a burning passion to provide personal, leisure and emotional support to people whose capacity for independent living is at risk. In particular the aged and those with disabilities.
By undertaking this nationally recognised qualification, learners will be provided with the knowledge and confidence required to care for members of the community including:
Supporting overall individual health and well-being
Providing personal care, support and encouragement for participating in activities
Assisting with daily living activities
Creating, implementing and monitoring individualised care plans
Supporting the elderly or disabled in their homes or in a community setting
On completion of this qualification, you will have a variety of employment opportunities, in particular working within the health and community industry at hospitals, nursing homes, aged care facilities and community centres.

REQUIREMENTS
Be 18 years old
Applicants must:
Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to demonstrate that they have the required level of LLN skills required by the course.
The LLN test will be conducted by a suitable Trainer and Assessor
Achieve a satisfactory result before enrolling in the course.
The LLN assessment includes a written test and interview to complete the verbal component of the test. This will be completed on site during the selection interview.
The LLN test assists Yorke Institute to assess whether or not students’ LLN skills are at a level suited to the course requirements. It also assists our trainers to prepare individual learning plans for each successful applicant where skill weaknesses are identified. The RTO will work with successful applicants to ensure their skills are at the required level by the completion of their training.

Yorke Institute students who have completed their studies can also apply to study further at Australian Universities and may be eligible for RPL depending on the courses they want to study.
