The Engineering Professional Year Program is now delivered via the virtual classroom.

The virtual classroom allows us to deliver the Engineering Professional Year Program to you via Moodle and Zoom, providing a high-quality learning experience in your home.

Our classes will be delivered in real time, allowing interaction with your classmates and your highly skilled Professional Year trainers.

The Engineering Professional Year Program is supported by the Department of Home Affairs and supervised by Engineering Education Australia. We’re a step in the pathway for 485 visa holders seeking permanent residency under the general skilled migration program (GSM).

The program includes:

  • 12 week internship with an Australian engineering employer in civil, mechanical, chemical, electrical, electronic, telecommunications or aerospace engineering.
  • Access to our exclusive employment agency Monash Talent.
  • 32 week career preparation program.
  • Highly experienced trainers with PhDs and advanced qualifications.

REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the Professional Year Engineering program, you must have:

  • Obtained or applied for a subclass 485 Temporary Graduate Visa with at least 12 months left on the visa from commencement of the Professional Year Program
  • An academic transcript and completion letter of an Engineering degree from an Australian or recognised overseas institution (minimum 2 years duration)
  • An engineering related Australian qualification completed in the past two years if you are holding an overseas engineering qualification that is over four years old
  • A Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) outcome letter or receipt from Engineers Australia. If the MSA outcome is unsuccessful, EEA will provide a pro-rata refund based on the number of classes attended, less a $350 administration fee. Please check EEA’s application form T&C for further detail.

English Test results from one of the below testing centres:

  • CAE Overall – 169
  • IELTS Overall – 6.0 (No band less than 5.0)
  • PTE – A Overall – 50 (No score below 36)
  • TOEFL – iBT Overall – 64 (Listening: 4, Reading: 4, Writing: 14, Speaking: 14)

EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION

Moorabbin Flying Services, based in Victoria, is an education provider that has been training pilots to the Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and beyond for over 24 years. Its ground theory has been co-written by one of the leading authors in the field and its flight instructors are handpicked for their experience and skills. Some of its study options include the Diploma of Aviation (CPL Aeroplane); Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating); Flight Instructor Rating; Commercial Pilot Licence; and Private Pilot Licence.
