COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification is suited to those who intend to achieve a trade outcome in wall and floor tiling for residential and commercial construction work. This course will teach learners how to lay ceramic, clay, slate, marble, glass and other types of tiles on external and internal walls and floors.

COURSE DELIVERY

Maximum duration of 104 weeks classroom delivery (includes 16 weeks holiday). Students must attend minimum 20 hours classtime per week as part of Student Visa requirements. Distance learning is not available.

  • CPCCWF3001 Prepare surfaces for tiling application
  • CPCCWF3002 Install floor tiles
  • CPCCWF3003 Install wall tiles
  • CPCCWF3004 Repair wall and floor tiling
  • CPCCWF3005 Install decorative tiling
  • CPCCWF3006 Install mosaic tiling
  • CPCCWF3007 Tile curved surfaces
  • CPCCWF3009 Apply waterproofing for wall and floor tiling
  • CPCCCO2013 Carry out concreting to simple forms

Learners will develop skills to create protective and decorative finishes and learn how to use tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles needed for edges, corners, or around obstacles such as fittings and pipes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 18 years or over
  • Basic computer skills
  • Spencer Tech Level 3 ACSF
  • Meet all Student Visa requirements, including
  • Year 11 – 12 academic education/or Certificate III in a relevant trade or qualification.
  • IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent) or English proficiency
  • Students need to demonstrate an interest in and suitability for work in the Construction, Plumbing and Services field
