COURSE DESCRIPTION
If you’ve been dreaming of a career as a commercial pilot, our Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) course is for you. This course is a great way to begin your aviation career. Within 85 weeks you’ll go from being an aviation novice to a commercial pilot. The course is designed to provide you with all technical and nontechnical skills you will need to achieve your Commercial Pilot Licence with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
Commercial pilots may fly for hire or reward and are authorised to act as pilot in command for aircraft only requiring one pilot, or as co-pilot for aircraft requiring two pilots.
The diploma qualification, together with the CPL, provide you with the qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience to operate as a commercial pilot and to seek initial employment in various roles
Course outcomes
On successful completion of the full course, students will attain:
an AVI50222 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) – a nationally recognised qualification issued by Altocap Flight School as Registered Training Organisation; and
a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) issued by CASA.
REQUIREMENTS
To be selected for a place in this course, you will need to:
Have a Year 12 / senior-secondary school certificate;
Student must be 17 years of age at enrolment, and 18 years old to undertake a flight test
Attend a pre-screening interview to assess suitability and commitment
Hold a current Class 1 Medical. Altocap can help you through this process.
Hold an Aviation Reference Number (ARN).
Hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
English Language Proficiency. Meet the minimum requirements for English Language proficiency as set out by CASA.
For international learners, evidence of satisfactory Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) proficiency.
