COURSE DESCRIPTION

This one-term course will introduce students to the foundations of a range of key business disciplines and their application to contemporary business environments. These foundation units, in turn, will enable the further study of more specialised units in international business. The course allows students to study a range of foundation units in fields such as marketing, finance, accounting and economics. The course provides an entry platform for the further Diploma and Master’s degrees in international business. Key learning outcomes are: • Theoretical and technical knowledge about a range of key business discipline • Application of theoretical and technical knowledge and skills in diverse organisational contexts • Analysis and solution of routine and complex business problems • Professional development in communication, teamwork and problem solving

COURSE STRUCTURE The Graduate Certificate in Business Management has four core units. There are no electives. TMKT601 Marketing Management TFIN601 Business Finance TACC602 Accounting for Business TECO603 Economic Environment of Business

PATHWAY TO EMPLOYMENT / FURTHER STUDY This one-term course is an introductory program in international business and its key disciplines. It is suitable for students seeking to work in international business and is an entry program into the Graduate Diploma and Master’s degree in international business.

REQUIREMENTS

An Australian bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification, including an overseas qualification); or

Five years’ relevant work experience; or

Completion of IMC’s Postgraduate Preparation Program; or

Completion of a three-year post-secondary qualification, with an average pass mark of 70%, in a relevant discipline

IELTS Academic minimum overall score of 6.0 with no individual band less than 5.5.

IMC nominated English Provider (ELICOS) at English for Academic Purpose (EAP) Level 3 with a pass mark of 60%

Overall score of 60% with minimum CEFR B2 in each band.
