Combining the creativity of writing, storytelling, and interpersonal connection with the analytical aspects of marketing and consumer behaviour, Bond’s Bachelor of Communication (Business) is a broad-based qualification that helps you develop the strategic and critical thinking skills in demand across corporate, government and not-for profit-organisations.
The required subjects cover the full gamut of strategic communication and marketing – from written and oral presentations to delivering messages locally, nationally, and globally via online publications, blogs, podcasts, and social and traditional media.
In this degree, you will complete a major (six subjects) in marketing where you’ll develop knowledge and skills in buyer behaviour, marketing research, promotional design, and strategic marketing. You may also study international marketing, and internet and digital marketing.
You can further tailor your degree with electives from any faculty or with an additional major in a related field such as film and television, advertising, public relations, social media, or creative writing.

Communication skills are in high demand in all fields and most professional roles including management and specific fields such as marketing, advertising, public relations, journalism, social media, film and television, computer animation, user-interface design, human resources, corporate training, and professional writing. The Bachelor of Communication (Business) offers you foundational studies in Communication and Media with a specialist major in Marketing. Bond’s flexible Bachelor of Communication (Business) program provides you with many opportunities to personalise your learning. In addition to the foundation Marketing major, you may choose another specialty major or minor as an elective from one of ten Communication areas: Advertising, Communication and Society, Corporate Storytelling, Creative Writing, Digital Media, Film and Television, Journalism, Media Studies, Social Media, and Public Relations. As part of your studies, you may produce marketing strategies and advertising and public relations campaigns for real clients as well as blogs, podcasts, published media stories, and websites. You will also gain sound insight into human society in various contexts including gender, interpersonal, and intercultural communication. Some professional positions for those obtaining the Bachelor of Communication (Business) are social media marketing specialist, communications officer, marketing communication and public relations specialist, strategic communication manager, sales representative, campaign manager, research communications officer, copywriter, and web developer.
