COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Certificate IV in University Access Program is a one semester pre-diploma program designed to prepare international students for university studies. It leads into the Canning College Diploma of Commerce as well as some degree programs at Curtin University and Murdoch University.

INTAKE & DURATION

Entry is available in January and July each year. The standard academic program goes for 20 weeks.

FUTURE STUDIES

Successful completion will provide a pathway to the Diploma of Commerce at Canning College or entry into some degree programs at Curtin University and Murdoch University. This qualification is equivalent to a 70 Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR).

TUITION

Learning assistance in Mathematics and English Communications is available through the Canning College Learning Centre. There is usually a two-week vacation period between each 10-week tuition period, and examinations are held in the last week of each 10-week term.

REQUIREMENTS

Students must have satisfactory completion of Year 11 studies or equivalent.

The minimum requirements to demonstrate English competency for Certificate IV in University Access entry are:

  • WACE English, WAUFP ELACS: 45%.
  • WACE EALD: 45%.
  • GCE ‘O’ Level English: C6.
  • IELTS Overall Band Score: 5.5.
  • TOEFL IBT: 46.
  • PTE Academic: 42
