Provides students with a unique opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience in a public, private or not-for-profit organisation.
The unit set enables students to gain full-time work experience and is an important vehicle for students to develop professional networks, practise applying theoretical concepts and principles learned during their degree and develop skills and capabilities required to succeed in their chosen profession, as well as gain a better understanding of the nature of employment and professional conduct in their chosen industry and in an Australian business context.
Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate using initiative and personal and professional leadership in a professional environment.
Demonstrate a capacity for working both autonomously and as part of a team with accountability and effective problem-solving skills.
Apply discipline knowledge through the research, planning, design and implementation of a relevant work-based project in a professional environment.

Opportunities for employment in entry-level management positions exist upon completion of this specialisation.
REQUIREMENTS
Successful applicants with a Graduate Certificate qualification or higher in Hospitality Management may seek reduced course duration by applying for recognition of prior learning.
Academic admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
Bachelor degree; or
Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.
English competency requirements:
IELTS Academic: An overall band minimum score of 6.5, with no individual band less than 6.0.) (Results are typically valid for 2 years and online tests are not acceptable.)
TOEFL iBT: TOEFL iBT: 84 (with no score below 17)
TOEFL Paper-Based Test (PBT): Minimum score of 573, including Test of Written English of 5.0 or better. (Results are typically valid for only 2 years)
Pearson Test of English (PTE): PTE Academic 58, with no score less than 50 for postgraduate standard entry courses. (Results are typically valid for only 2 years)
