COURSE DESCRIPTION
Develop your creative, practical, critical and collaborative skills so that you may pursue an exciting career in the performing arts. You will have access to excellent physical spaces in which to develop your talent, including the Drama Centre, teaching and workshop spaces, the 425-seat Matthew Flinders Theatre, dance and voice training studios, a three-camera television studio, and a ‘black-box’ studio.
What you will study
First year
A typical first year may include:
- Introduction to the craft of bringing a script to life on stage, including performance and production skills.
- Commencing your critical understanding through study of the history of drama, and by reading significant scripts.
- Study elective topics.
Second year
A typical second year may include:
- Development of your performance and production skills, including voice, movement and performance techniques in both stage and screen contexts.
Third year
A typical third year may include:
- Further development with opportunities to practise your craft in other contexts, including in the production of a television drama hour.
- Study areas such as dramaturgy or song and dance.
Your career
Flinders graduates include award-winning actors, animators, directors, cinematographers, editors, producers and writers. Your diverse range of skills and portfolio of creative achievements will make you attractive to a wide range of employers in the arts and communication industries internationally.

REQUIREMENTS
Flinders University recognises international secondary schooling for direct entry to undergraduate programs.
Audition/interview or portfolio.
English language requirements
- IELTS (Academic): 6.0 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.0 Writing;
- TOEFL iBT: 72 Overall with 18 Speaking, 21 Writing;
- Pearson PTE Academic: 50 Overall with 50 Speaking, 50 Writing;
- Cambridge C1 Advanced: 169 Overall with 169 Writing, 169 Speaking;
- Occupational English Test (OET): 300 Speaking, 300 Writing; Duolingo (Up to and including Semester 2, 2024): Overall 95-100
