COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Graduate Certificate in Public Administration provides a basic foundation in the key theoretical and conceptual issues in Public Administration.
The course articulates with the 36 unit Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Administration and the 72 unit Master of Public Administration, and the sequentially developed topics enable progression through the three awards.
The course is also available as an exit award from the 72 unit Master of Public Administration subject to meeting the requirements in the Program of Study below. In order to be able to exit with the Graduate Certificate in Public Administration students must indicate their intention to not proceed with the primary degree and request that they exit with the Graduate Certificate in Public Administration.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course you will be able to:
1. Appraise concepts, theories, contemporary trends and developments in public administration
2. Evaluate complex information and issues in public administration
3. Critique the implications of existing research for the theory and practice of public administration
4. Relate knowledge, skills and ideas to specialist and non-specialist audiences
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.
English language requirements
IELTS (Academic): 6.0 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.0 Writing; TOEFL iBT: 72 Overall with 18 Speaking, 21 Writing; Pearson PTE Academic: 50 Overall with 50 Speaking, 50 Writing; Cambridge C1 Advanced: 169 Overall with 169 Speaking, 169 Writing; Occupational English Test (OET): 300 Speaking; 300 Writing; 300 Reading; 300 Listening; Duolingo (Up to and including Semester 2, 2024): Overall 95-100.
