COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Telecommunications Network Engineering) course at the National Institute of Technology is designed to prepare you with the skills and knowledge required for telecommunication network planning. You will work on simulated telecommunication projects that will include project initiation, scoping, planning, and designing telecommunications transmission network architectures.

Course Overview

This course will help you equip with skills and knowledge in several telecommunications network engineering aspects such as:

REQUIREMENTS

International students must be 18 years or above before commencement of study at NIT.

To meet the academic entry requirements, you must meet one of the following:

  • Successful completion of a Certificate III level or a higher qualification in the Telecommunications or Information Technology areas; or
  • Year 12* or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of work experience^ in the field of Telecommunications or ICT such as Telecommunications/IT support, Telecommunications and/or systems administration, etc.

English Language Proficiency

  • Overall score of 5.5; not less than 5.0
  • An equivalent score in another English Language Proficiency Test acceptable by the National Institute of Technology:
  • TOEFL iBT:Overall 46; not less than 4 in listening and reading and not less than 14 in writing and speaking test
  • PTE Academic – Overall 42; not less than 36 in each test
  • C1 Advanced (CAE): 162; B2 First (First Certificate of English (FCE): 160
  • Occupational English Test: Grade B for each test component OR
  • An alternative English language proficiency evidence that is acceptable by National Institute of Technology.
