COURSE DESCRIPTION
The MEM40119 Certificate IV in Engineering qualification provides the competencies required by a higher Engineering Tradesperson carrying out a wide range of engineering work undertaken in the fields of refrigeration and air conditioning, casting and moulding, computer numerically controlled (CNC) programming, fluid power, heavy fabrication, instrumentation, maintenance, plant mechanics, marine electronics, mechatronics, patternmaking, robotics, toolmaking, welding and watch and clock services and repair as well as post trade work.

Students exiting this qualification may choose to progress with further studies by undertaking the following qualification:
MEM50119 Diploma of Engineering – Advanced Trade
REQUIREMENTS
All students must be 18 years of age or older at the time of enrolment.
Students must have completed High School (or equivalent)
All students must register their USI
The students must have good computer skills (including WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint and Internet to search for information)
English Language Proficiency
This course is delivered and accessed in English. The students must have LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) Skills for the level of course.
Students must provide current (test date less than 2 years) and valid proof of English language proficiency by any of the following tests:
IELTS (International English language testing system) minimum overall score 6.0
PTE (Pearson Test of English) minimum overall score 50
TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language – Internet based test) minimum overall score 64
C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge English – Advanced CAE) minimum overall score 169
OET (Occupational English Test) minimum overall score 350
