You’ll gain the core knowledge and skills essential to business management and operations in the twenty first century. Choose from a range of business majors including accounting, entrepreneurship, business analytics and analysis, logistics and supply chain management, human resource management, marketing and more. Combine your learning through three integrated, multidisciplinary final year units to emerge a true strategic and creative thinker, armed with the theoretical and practical knowledge required to operate effectively in diverse settings such as not-for-profits, government, small businesses and corporate organisations.
But your learning won’t end there. Applied innovation develops in-demand workforce skills such as interdisciplinary collaboration, creativity and complex problem-solving, persistence, curiosity and initiative, in real-world contexts. You’ll apply innovation toolkits, prototype solutions and participate in challenges, such as innovation sprints and interdisciplinary projects, including activities inspired by your passions and interests.

This unique double degree affords an extremely broad and range of career possibilities, from business administration through to organisational management, as well as roles including innovation consultant, innovation lead, innovation analyst, strategic designer, transformation lead, innovation manager and much more.

Career opportunities are extremely broad and range from business administration through to organisational management. With the development of skills and attributes through innovation capabilities, professional innovation roles may include Innovation Consultant, Innovation Lead, Innovation Analyst, Strategic Designer, Creative Producer, Start-up Founder, Human-Centred Researcher, Self-employed Entrepreneur, Product Manager, Transformation Lead, Innovation Strategist and Innovation Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent, such as an interstate or international Year 12 qualification.
English language requirements
Satisfactory completion of one of the following:
- Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 65%, all skills 65%
- minimum IELTS overall band of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
- TOEFL iBT (internet-based) – 64 (no less than 13 in reading, 12 in listening, 18 in speaking, 21 in writing)
- Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 50 (no communicative skills less than 50)
- C1 Advanced: 169, no band less than 169
- any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
