COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques will provide you with the skills and knowledge to perform a range of manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory techniques for the purpose of collecting and preparing samples.

You will look forward to a career which can include specialist testing across a variety of sectors. You will learn to adjust formulations and production mixes, process and interpret data, train other personnel to follow established procedures, conduct basic tests and evaluate progress and quality.

Through theoretical and practical course work, you will learn to:

Collect and prepare samples
Work safely in a laboratory
Communicate efficiently in a laboratory
Process and interpret data
Maintain and prepare laboratory stock

You will gain practical experience in:

Working with chemical and biological solutions
Performing chemical experiments
Performing manual, semi-automated and fully auto-mated laboratory procedures
Adjusting formulations and production mixes

Develop the personal attributes that will help you get ahead:

REQUIREMENTS

Year 12 or equivalent

English Language Requirements:

Academic IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (iBT) 46 or equivalent
Or Completion of a TAFE NSW General English Program
