COURSE DESCRIPTION

This Diploma of Music (Sound Production)is for people who want to work in the creative arts – music, performing and entertainment industries as assistant sound engineers or sound designers.

You will develop and apply a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate your own work and/or that of a team. You will also develop specialist expertise and learn to exercise music knowledge and artistic judgement.

You can learn to plan, develop and implement audio/sound design and sound recordings. You can operate and maintain a variety of sound recording, production and playback equipment.

TAFE NSW VOCATIONAL PATHWAYS

TAFE NSW allows for two or more courses to be packaged together, either to meet the prerequisite requirements for a course or to plan your studies around your career goals. You can submit a single TAFE NSW application form and will be able to apply for one Student Visa for the full duration of the package.

Diploma of Music (Sound Production) – Duration : 1.5 years

REQUIREMENTS

Pre-Requisite:

Certificate III in Music (Sound Production)

If applicants have not completed the pre-requisite of the Certificate III in Music (Sound Production) an audition via phone or Skype is required.

English Language Requirements:

Academic IELTS 5.5. or TOEFL (iBT) 46 or equivalent

Or Completion of a TAFE NSW General English Program
