According to the Australian Government’s Job Outlook service the number of people working as education aides is expected to see very strong growth in the coming years. This is a very large occupation with around 85,000 job openings expected over the next five years.

This course covers core skills such as assisting in the implementation of planned learning experiences , supporting the numeracy, literacy and communication skills of students, supporting students at risk, and working with diverse communities. Successful completion of this course will qualify you to work as a teacher aide or education support worker, as well as giving you the option to undertake further studies in education.

REQUIREMENTS

Academic Requirements: Completion of Year 10 (or equivalent). Non school-leavers must have relevant work experience or qualification that indicates likely success of course completion.

You must be at least 18 years of age to enter into this course;

International students who are under 18 years of age and are applying for a student visa are required by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs to have adequate welfare arrangements in place.

Academic IELTS 5.5 (no individual band less than 5.0) or ISLPR 2+ on all skills or other; iBT score of 46 with 8 in Reading /7 in Learning and 18 in writing /16 in speaking; PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) overall score of 42 with Reading /Learning /writing /speaking score of 36; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 162.
