COURSE DESCRIPTION

As cybersecurity threats become increasingly frequent and sophisticated, organisations of all stripes require the expertise to remain secure. This course is ideal for cybersecurity managers wanting to gain the skills to better understand risk and policy to ensure their organisations are protected from cyber threat. Developed with the Academic Centre of Cybersecurity Excellence (ACCSE), this course is aligned with industry standards. Explore key risk management practices: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the security of risk management. Explore key aspects of processes that identify, assess and evaluate risk and deficiencies. Review and manage cybersecurity policy: Consider the role and function of cybersecurity policy within organisations. Examine the motivating factors for retaining cybersecurity policy and how to ensure policies are high-quality and effective. Explore how to run an effective SETA campaign: Examine the principles of (Cyber)security education, training and awareness (SETA). Explore the distinctions between each element and the steps needed to develop and implement a successful SETA campaign. Recommend change for an organisation: Drawing on your new knowledge, you’ll undertake a case analysis of an organisation, examining risk, policy and SETA practices, and recommend how these can be enhanced.

Skills and learning outcomes: By the end of this course, you’ll have an advanced understanding of cybersecurity risk and policy within your organisation. You’ll be able to: Analyse the risk, policy and SETA practices of an organisation; Construct recommendations addressing the risk, policy and SETA practices of an organisation to address deficiencies.
