COURSE DESCRIPTION
Managing change relies on effective leadership to succeed. This course is ideal for leaders and professionals from any sector seeking research-backed skills and strategies to facilitate workplace transformation. Explore transformational leadership and other models: Explore critical aspects of the change process, including effectively communicating with employees and consulting with internal and external stakeholders. Learn to draw on foundational theories, such as transformational leadership, to foster a supportive climate of change. Evaluate models of change and leadership: Critically evaluate core models that inform contemporary understandings of how to lead organisational change, such as Lewin’s three-step and Kotter’s eight-step models. Examine their implications for planning and implementing effective change processes, and the role leaders should play. Analyse organisational capacity for change: Learn to analyse organisational systems and capabilities to generate interventions supporting change and transformation. Address challenges and sustain change: Harness strategies that can help overcome barriers to internal organisational change, including disruptive events and crises. Support individuals and teams to embed behaviours that align with anticipated change outcomes, and sustain successful change within your organisation.
Skills and learning outcomes: By the end of this course, you’ll have enhanced leadership skills and a deeper understanding of how to lead change in your organisation. You’ll be able to: Apply models of leadership that support effective individuals and teams to adapt routines and behaviours that align with anticipated change outcomes; Critically evaluate models of change and their implications for planning and implementing effective change processes; Apply approaches of analysing organisational systems and capabilities to generate interventions that support organisational change and transformation; Reflect upon strategies that may assist in overcoming barriers to internal organisational change, including leading and managing through disruptive events and crises.
