COURSE DESCRIPTION

Whether you would like to enter ministry or deepen your personal knowledge of the Catholic faith this program offers the opportunity to examine the essential beliefs and doctrines of the Catholic Church. You will have the opportunity to look at topics such as sacred scripture, the sacraments and liturgy, systematic and moral theology. As a Theology student you will develop a detailed understanding of the Catholic faith.

Theology holds a central place in the life and mission of a Catholic university. This program provides the essential building blocks for anyone who would like to enter ministry and will also appeal to those who have a personal interest in Catholic theology. Graduates of this program will be well prepared to pursue careers in teaching, research, and Church and community work.

This program offers students the opportunity to explore the Catholic intellectual tradition. Freedom is given to students to choose topics which most interest them.

Whether you would like to enter the ministry or you are on a personal spiritual journey, this degree offers the opportunity to examine the essential teachings and beliefs of the Catholic Church. Throughout the course of this degree you will look at topics such as the sacraments, scripture, liturgy, the prophets and moral theology. Upon graduation, you will have developed a detailed understanding of the complexities of Catholic faith.

Theology holds a central place in the life of any Catholic university, and the Theology Major provides essential building blocks for those wishing to become involved in various ministries within the Christian community. Through this Major, you will develop the skills to examine Scripture and Traditions to grow your understanding of the Catholic faith. You will also cover a number of topics including Christian Spirituality, the Psalms and Wisdom, the Reformation and the Liturgy.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet High school qualifications (or equivalent) to apply for undergraduate program. Academic minimum entry requirements for international applicants vary from country to country.

IELTS (Academic) – 6.5 overall, with no individual band score lower than 6.0; CAE/CPE – 176 overall, with no individual band score lower than 169; PTE Academic – 58 overall, with no individual band score lower than 50; TOEFL (iBT) – 84 overall, with no score lower than 21 in writing and no other band score lower than 17.
