COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Combined Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Sciences and Master (CBM) course is a 4-year accelerated program for high performing students. Over the first three years you will complete an extended major in Sport Science, Exercise and Health and a semester of post-graduate studies. You’ll then progress into a final full year at a postgraduate level. On completion, you will be awarded both a Bachelor and a Master’s degree. The Advanced Bachelor Degree is available for students choosing to exit the program at the end of your third year.

The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Sciences provides a sound basis in sport and exercise science theory combined with practical, technical and communication skills. Completion of the course will expand your options for graduate studies leading to higher qualifications in specialist accredited courses. If you choose this extended major pathway you will be eligible to apply for professional accreditation as an Exercise Scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).

Why study this course?

This course will provide both a Bachelor and Master’s qualification in a four-year program.

With full time study, you will achieve ESSA accreditation, graduates will be eligible to apply for accreditation as a Sport Scientist and practice within the Australian allied health provider framework

This course focuses on combining your academic studies with developing your applied skills in-line with industry accreditation and subsequent employment or research.

You’ll learn:

to demonstrate broad and coherent theoretical and technical knowledge with depth in the discipline of Sport and Exercise Sciences

to apply well-developed cognitive, creative and communication skills in diverse contexts

the knowledge, skills and understanding needed in areas such as sport management and delivery, and in service delivery which is essential for athlete preparation and specialised fitness industries.

REQUIREMENTS

Entry requirements may vary from country to country. Students are required to complete an international academic qualification equivalent to Australian High School (or equivalent).

English language requirements:

IELTS (academic): Overall minimum score of 6.5, no band lower than 6.0

TOEFL Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): an overall score of 82 or above with a minimum score of 22 in writing, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 20 in listening

Pearsons Test of English (PTE) (academic): An overall score of 64 with a minimum score of 59 in the speaking and writing sections, and no less than 54 in the other sections
