Mathematics is the language of science. It underpins most technological advances that we rely on every day. Studying a Bachelor of Mathematics will give you essential skills and knowledge. Study logic, mathematical modelling, experimental design and data analysis.

Current research is inventing new ways of using existing mathematics as well as creating new mathematics for the future. As part of your structured mathematics major, you will study courses in topic areas such as:

This degree can take students to varied and ground-breaking places. Graduates work in a wide range of fields including communications, international finance and the futures market, the energy sector, and medical and health research.

Current research is inventing new ways of using existing mathematics as well as creating new mathematics for the future. Analytical thinking and innovation, critical thinking and analysis, complex problem-solving, technology design and programming and reasoning, problem-solving and ideation are all embedded within this degree, and are skills that have been identified as being in demand and emerging according to the World Economic Forum’s The Future of Jobs Report 2020.
