What is medical engineering Medical engineering is a new and exciting discipline. It spans topics like medicine, biomedical science and engineering. Bachelor of Medical Engineering graduates take technology and create better solutions for health and wellbeing. They seek to improve human health through the development and design of equipment, devices, computer systems and software.

You’ll use your creativity, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving skills. Learn to apply engineering principles and design processes. Find innovative solutions to healthcare problems. As a graduate, you will develop and improve technology and human systems in medical settings.

Become job-ready through our professional practice courses. You’ll learn to tackle ‘wicked problems’ and develop essential workplace skills in finance, project management, sustainability, communication and entrepreneurial. Build critical medical and engineering skills by studying through courses in:

Career opportunities

Medical engineers can work in hospitals and other medical institutions. They may also work in health-related manufacturing and technology companies, pharmaceutical companies, or research organisations.
