COURSE DESCRIPTION

Human resource management (HRM) is a critical component of business, recognising people as an organisation’s most valuable resource. This program goes beyond the traditional approach of finding and employing staff, extending into the realm of nurturing, and retaining talent to optimise performance.

During the Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) you will undertake a foundation year that covers all core disciplines of business, while during the second year you will begin your major in human resource management (HRM). The final-year capstone subject allows you to apply everything you have learned in collaboration with students from other disciplines.

Specific focus is placed on the acquisition and development of employees, positively influencing their employment performance, and monitoring and managing the processes of staff selection, retention and turnover. HRM examines specific people management practices such as recruitment and selection, remuneration and performance management, employee relations, management of change, learning and development, workplace health and safety management.

After completing the Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management), you may enrol in a master’s degree and be eligible for up to four subjects’ credit, reducing your master’s degree to one year. This means you can graduate with your bachelor’s and master’s degree in just four years.
