Applied mathematics underpins a wide range of scientific and commercial enterprises, providing extensive career options. Just about every industry depends at some point on handling and interpreting data, and on predicting and modelling outcomes. Mathematical results drive policy and innovation.

This degree

The Bachelor of Mathematics degree teaches highly transferable skills in problem solving, data analysis, probability and variability, mathematical modelling, logistics and logic. The degree is flexible, so you can take up to one quarter of your subjects from other disciplines to expand your career options.

Other opportunities include scholarships from corporate partners, summer scholarships and undergraduate research projects with academic staff, access to programs offered by the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) and inter-university courses via our Access Grid Room.
