The Salon Assistant course a preparatory qualification which provides a defined and limited range of basic skills and knowledge used in hairdressing salons by individuals who provide assistance with client services. These routine and repetitive tasks are completed under direct supervision and with guidance from hairdressers who manage the client service.
The combined skills and knowledge do not provide for a job outcome as a hairdresser and this qualification is intended to prepare individuals for further training.
?Outcomes
This qualification will give you the skills you need to become a:
Hair, Beauty or Barber Salon Assistant, or
provides preparation for further training in Hairdressing, Barbering or Beauty Therapy
REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal prerequisites required to enter the Certificate II in Salon Assistant but students must satisfy the following Age, English language and Academic requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or over
Must have a satisfactory English Proficiency level of 5.5 or equivalent on IELTS Band
Must have completed Year 10 or its equivalent
Prior to enrolling in this course, students must complete Victorian International Academy’s Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment and Pre-Training Review interview so we can assess the suitability of this course to meet your needs. For a successful enrolment, students must be 18 years old.
Selection for enrolment in our courses will be approved for applicants who meet the qualification entry requirements. In line with Government policy students with intellectual and physical disabilities and who meet the entry criteria are encouraged to participate in training.
