COURSE DESCRIPTION

This diploma course prepares you for progression into management roles across a broad range of travel and tourism environments. Learn business operations and regulations, tourism practices and business management skills, enhance your learning through visits to tourism operators and make the most of networking opportunities.

This course gives you an in-depth understanding of how the tourism industry operates, giving you a grounding in business operations and regulations, sustainable practices and effective planning.

Pathways

Completing a Diploma or Advanced Diploma can guarantee entry into a Bachelor Degree program with 1-1.5 years credit.

Additionally, if you have extensive experience in the industry you may be eligible to apply for credit exemptions via Recognition of Prior learning (RPL).

There are many entry and exit points to allow flexible learning and pathways that match your needs.

REQUIREMENTS

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Admission to the Institute is on the basis of academic merit. William Angliss Institute academic entry requirements must be demonstrated by ONE of the following:

An Australian Year 12 qualification with an ATAR/ TER score of 50 or higher.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

International students must have a good command of written and spoken English. William Angliss Institute English Language entry requirements must be demonstrated by ONE of the following:

IELTS (Academic): 5.5 (no band less than 5.0)

TOEFL (Internet-based test – iBT): Overall score of 50 (with minimum score of 5 in Reading, 5 in Listening, 14 in Speaking and 15 in Writing)

PTE (Academic): 42 (no communication band less than 36)

FCE (B2 First): 162 with no less than 154 in any component

CAE (C1 Advanced): 162 with no less than 154 in any component

Senior Secondary Certificate of Education completed in Australia: Minimum English score 23

Evidence of at least 5 years of studies in an English speaking country
(Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Canada, United States of America, South Africa, Republic of Ireland): Yes

With around 18,000 students enrolling each year, William Angliss offers a broad range of training and education programs including accredited traineeships and apprenticeships, certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas, graduate certificates and degrees. More than 90% of its graduates are satisfied with the quality of their training. The number of William Angliss Institute graduates in employment or further training is higher than the average for all Australian TAFEs.
