It helps us continue improving the quality of teaching, learning and student experience for current and future students.\n\n\n\n\n\nEntry requirements\n\n\nEntry requirements for KOI vary depending on the course, but the university makes it easy for applicants to find out exactly what they\u2019ll need for admission. To be accepted, you\u2019ll need to have achieved grades C or above at the pre-university level. This is the same as a high school diploma in the USA, for example, or a grade 4 in the International Baccalaureate.\n\n\n\n\n\nPostgraduates need to prove they\u2019ve completed a relevant undergraduate qualification, usually with at least a 2:1 or the equivalent of a B grade. There is a specific international student application form, which needs to be filled out and emailed or posted to KOI.\n\n\n\n\n\nEnglish Score Required\n\n\nThe minimum English requirements for direct entry into all of KOI\u2019s courses on offer, including TESOL, are available below:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIELTS: minimum score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5\nTOEFL: minimum score of 60 with no band less than\nListening 11, speaking 17, reading 12, writing 20.\nPTE \u2013 minimum score of 50 with no band less than 42.\nCAE \u2013 minimum overall score of 169 with no band less than 162.\nHKCEE \u2013 minimum C in syllabus B\nHKALE \u2013 minimum D use of English in AS-Level\nGCE Level \u2013 C grade or better in GCE O-Level English\nNSW HSC \u2013 minimum 55 per cent in English as a second language \nOther: successful completion of Certificate IV or higher for a duration of 12 months or over\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFree additional English coaching and assessments are offered to help international students with their English language skills. If they need more help or information, it\u2019s best to get in touch with the admissions team.\n\n\n\n\n\nAdmission\n\n\nKOI has a specific application process for international students, which is clearly explained on its website. There\u2019s information for those applying from abroad, and for those who are already studying in Australia. Each course has different academic requirements. No matter which one students are applying for, they\u2019ll need documents such as:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA KOI international student application form\nProof they meet the minimum English requirements\nA copy of their passport\nCopies of academic documents\nDocuments showing any changes of names\nA Visa Grant letter (for those who are already in Australia)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe fees students need to pay will depend on the course they choose and are different for international students. Every international student also needs to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), which can be arranged through KOI.\n\n\n\n\n\nScholarships & funding \n\n\nKOI offers scholarships to students who qualify through their academic performance. King\u2019s Own Institute International Student Scholarships (KISS) are given to undergraduate and postgraduate international students who are doing excellent work. The value of this scholarship is up to AUD 500 per trimester.\n\n\n\n\n\nUniversity structure\n\n\nKOI has three locations across Sydney, which are all in the busy city centre between The Rocks and Darling Harbour. It has another campus in Newcastle, New South Wales, which is around two hours\u2019 drive away.  KOI also operates a virtual campus system, which allows many of its classes to be delivered online for students who can\u2019t travel to every session.\n\n\n\n\n\nKOI has a slightly different trimester structure, with three terms per academic year instead of two. If students choose not to take breaks, they can complete a three-year bachelor\u2019s degree in two years. Many of the courses also include professional accreditations, which allow students to join chartered organisations in their fields. It\u2019s stocked with reference materials for each course, including textbooks, journals and reference books. There are also student lounges, where students can meet, study, and relax.\n\n\n\n\n\nFor many students, this will be the first time they leave home and live overseas independently. KOI\u2019s staff will help each student settle in and access important information about life in Australia.  \n\n\n\n\n\nAs soon as they accept the offer to study at KOI, students will be sent a pre-departure guide. This has information about orientation and enrolment. During orientation, all new students will be given more information about the school, staff, services, and assistance they can access.\n\n\n\n\n\nAccommodation\n\n\nInternational students must stick to the financial rules set by the Department of Home Affairs. They also look after student engagement and offer general advice and counselling for all students. This programme helps students no matter which course they\u2019re studying. The Academic Integrity Module (AIM) is managed by LSC. All students must complete the programme at the start of their first trimester.\n\n\n\n\n\nGraduate outcomes \n\n\nStudents who achieve a GPA of 3.5 or above in more than half of their modules can access exciting opportunities.
