COURSE DESCRIPTION
Overview
UniSQ’s Graduate Diploma of Professional Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) is ideal if you have a three year engineering degree and you want to extend your knowledge and practical experience in electrical and electronic engineering.
You don’t even need work experience to commence your postgraduate studies in this degree.
Through this eight unit degree, you will do a combination of advanced study and practice of electrical and electronic engineering, empowering you to apply engineering principles to the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical and/or electronic plants and equipment.
Further study
When you complete your Graduate Diploma of Professional Engineering you could take the credit from your studies and go on to complete the Master of Professional Engineering where you will have the opportunity to do a research project and dissertation to apply your formal knowledge to a real world issue.
Professional accreditation
The Graduate Diploma of Professional Engineering is not accredited by any professional bodies other than the University of Southern Queensland. It does however provide a pathway to the Master of Professional Engineering which is provisionally accredited with Engineers Australia for membership as a graduate Professional Engineer.
Career outcomes
As an electrical and electronic engineering graduate, you could work in electronics, computer engineering, robotics, telecommunications, microwaves, fibre optics, biomedical engineering, power stations, defence services, electricity networks and government departments.
REQUIREMENTS
- Australian university three or four-year Bachelor degree, or equivalent, in engineering in the relevant specialisation (major). or
- Completion of an appropriate four-year embedded honours Bachelor degree, or equivalent, in engineering in a non-related specialisation (major field).
IELTS (Academic only) – Overall minimum score of 6.5 and no individual band score of less than 6.0; TOEFL (internet based) – Overall minimum score of 90 and no individual skills score of less than 20; Pearson (PTE Academic) – Overall score of 58 and no individual Communicative Skills score of less than 58; Cambridge C1 Advanced C2 Proficiency – Overall minimum score of 185 with no less than 185 in each skill.
