COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Master of Cybersecurity and Computing is designed for students seeking to move into a cybersecurity career or build upon their existing cybersecurity skills. The course is offered both on campus and online, part-time and full-time, to accommodate different needs and help satisfy growing industry demand for qualified cybersecurity professionals. Building on from foundational computing skills and knowledge, this course covers a wide range of state-of-the-art areas including network security, cloud security, ethical hacking, intrusion detection and information privacy. The Master of Cybersecurity and Computing gives students the opportunity to carry out industry projects or academic research, and prepares them for research higher degree programs.
The Master of Cybersecurity and Computing is designed for graduates who are looking to move into a cybersecurity career. The aim of the course is to develop students’ competences in foundations of computing and cybersecurity combined with several advanced cybersecurity topics, while developing problem solving and analytical skills. In addition to preparing students for cybersecurity careers, the Master of Cybersecurity and Computing also lays the groundwork for conducting academic research through developing knowledge of research methods and completing a research thesis or a substantial industry project.

Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:
demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of fundamental computing theories and technologies, including discrete mathematics and programming principles.
demonstrate integrated and cohesive advanced understanding of a complex body of knowledge in cybersecurity and related computing theories and technologies, and to pursue lifelong learning via acquiring and analysing information from various sources, knowledge synthesis and reflection;
critically analyse a problem and apply acquired knowledge to synthetise complex information and design an effective computing and cybersecurity solution;
communicate effectively in both oral and written form with technical and non-technical audiences to share ideas, obtain information and work effectively with others;
demonstrate advanced understanding of the legal, ethical and cultural context, and social and economic implications of cybersecurity threats and solutions, and exercise expert judgement and responsibility;
work effectively as an individual, or as a part of a team/team leader; and
apply acquired knowledge, self-directed learning and management skills to conduct an industry or a research project.
REQUIREMENTS
Rule A: You have completed a Bachelor qualification or above (AQF Level 7, 8 or 9 or overseas equivalent) in any discipline.

Rule B: You have completed a UNE Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity and Computing (AQF Level 8).

An IELTS (Academic) overall score of at least 6.0 with no sub-band less than 5.5; or equivalent TOEFL score of at least 213 in the computer-based test; or at least 79 in the internet-based test with no less than 22 in the written component; or a PTE Academic minimum overall score of 57 with no skill less than 50.
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION
The University of New England was originally formed in 1938 as the New England University College, a College of the University of Sydney. It became fully independent in 1954. The university is located on several sites in Armidale, NSW. All the programs are offered via the four faculties: Arts; Economics, Business and Law; Education, Health and Professional Studies; and The Sciences; these faculties incorporate 18 teaching schools. Research is offered in the areas of rural science, agricultural economics, geology, educational administration, linguistics, archaeology, etc.
