Enjoy a vibrant career in hospitality, tourism and events
This program provides you with a cutting edge learning experience that is both academically rigorous and industry relevant.
You can choose to study a stand-alone degree at the University of Newcastle (Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events). You can also combine your university degree with an Advanced Diploma at TAFE NSW.
The combined option allows you to graduate with an Advanced Diploma and a Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events, in just three years.
Students selecting the latter option, will study courses at both TAFE NSW and the University of Newcastle for the first 18 months, and study full-time at the University of Newcastle for the final 18 months.

Course overview
Our courses engage with a diverse range of fields, including management, marketing, sociology, consumer psychology, cultural studies and environmental science. Through problem-based learning, you are equipped with knowledge to solve real world issues in dynamic ways.
You will study how the tourism, hospitality and events sectors are responding to global challenges, such as, operating responsibly and sustainably, managing the impacts of climate change, and harnessing innovation through digital technologies. You will also study tourism, hospitality, and events challenges at a business-level, including how to effectively lead and manage and people, profits and processes.
