This qualification allows individuals to develop basic functional knowledge and skills for work in customer contact positions in the sport or community recreation industry.
These individuals are competent in a range of administrative activities and functions within a team and under supervision. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks using practical skills and basic sport and recreation industry knowledge.
They work in locations such as sport and recreation centres or facilities, and leisure and aquatic centres assisting with the conduct of recreation activities, and facility maintenance and operations.
Possible job titles include:

The Ace Tennis Academy, established in 2004, is located at Parkwood campus, an hour’s drive from Brisbane. This Academy offers three courses, namely, Certificate II in Sport & Recreation, Certificate II in Sport (Coaching) and Diploma of Sport (Development). The certificate programs prepare students for a career as an assistant tennis coach while the diploma equips them for senior level coaching assignments. Short term courses for personal improvement are also offered at this Academy. International students can also enrol in the certificate and diploma programs.
