COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of remedial massage therapists who work with clients presenting with soft tissue dysfunction, musculoskeletal imbalance or restriction in range of motion (ROM). Therapists may be self-employed or work within a larger health service.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 200 hours of work in a simulated clinical environment as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.
The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

#MIA doesn’t offer HLTAID011 training internally. Students can complete it with other RTOs, apply for credit transfer with a valid certificate, and submit their first aid certificate before starting work placement. However, students are responsible for covering the costs associated with this Unit of Competency.
On successful completion of the program, learners will be awarded with HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage.

REQUIREMENTS
Academic Requirement
(1) Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or the Australian/overseas equivalent is mandatory. Students must be over 18 years old and above
English Requirement
International students must achieve an English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 with no score lower than 5.0 for all courses.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.0
TOEFL internet-based test (only accepted if test is taken on or before 25 July 2023): 64
Cambridge English: Advanced (Certificate in Advanced English): 169
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): 50
Occupational English Test: B for each test component
