COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of heavy commercial vehicles within the automotive service and repair sector.
Pathways from the qualification
Further training pathways from this qualification include AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, AUR40816 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling or other relevant qualifications.
Employment or occupational pathway
This course prepare new employees or recognises and develops existing workers performing mechanical work in the automotive heavy commercial vehicle service and repair sector.
Employment outcomes targeted by this qualification include:
- Heavy commercial vehicle technicians
Unit of Study
Total 36 units: 22 core units plus 14 elective units.
Assessment Methods
Training Australia First uses a range of assessment methods which may include:
- Written assessment
- Observation
Award Issued
Students completing all assessment requirements for the qualification will be awarded a certificate corresponding to the completed qualifications. Students completing assessment requirements for part of a qualification will be awarded a Statement of Attainment indicating which modules or units of competency they have completed.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years old or over
Completed year 12 (HSC or equivalent) or relevant industry experience (if applicable)
Minimum 6 IELTS score or equivalent (if applicable)
Complete a pre-training interview and a Language Literacy, Numeracy test as a part of enrolment process. Off shore students will need to go through a telephone interview
