COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Overview:

Develop knowledge and understanding of management in the hospitality industry. You will gain an in-depth understanding of management including finance, tailored to the hospitality sector. The course will teach you the skills needed to be a supervisor, manager or department head within your establishment.

Career Pathways:

This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector as a departmental or small business manager. The diversity of employers includes restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.

Learning Outcomes:

Develop your skills to apply hospitality budgeting, workplace diversity, legal knowledge, rostering and service quality.

Study Pathways:

Direct entry to SIT60316 – Advanced Diploma of Hospitality, course credit up to 1 year with our university partners in Australia

Students require:

personal computer capable of being connected to the internet using a Wi-Fi connection

personal email address

a mobile phone

Microsoft Office suite of programs

uniform for work placement:

full hospitality uniforms. One for café and another for functions.(included in material fee)

Delivery Mode

Classroom based face-to-face, work placement, self-directed and/or work-based training.

REQUIREMENTS

Academic Entry Requirement:

Satisfactory completion of year 12 or equivalent schooling OR Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Level 4 qualification and be at least 18 years of age.

Participate in a suitability interview for your chosen qualification

English Entry Requirement:

IELTS: 5.5 overall with each band 5 or above or equivalent.
Qualifications recognized by Alliance college as equivalent to an IELTS 5.5 overall score upon completion
