COURSE DESCRIPTION

Description

The MBA course is designed to synthesise the development of graduates’ skills and knowledge of contemporary business management practices. The prime focus is on the application of those skills and the ability for graduates to tailor their studies through a variety of electives. The structure ensures that graduates are prepared for middle and senior management roles in a broad range of industries. The masters course deepens the knowledge and skills acquired through the core units plus the flexibility for students to select 2 units of particular interest. Within the core, the capstone Applied Business Project ensures that competence in the application of skills and knowledge is demonstrated to current and/or prospective employers.

Government and Professional Accreditation

APIC courses are nationally accredited and registered by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and included in the National Register of Higher Education Providers.

APIC is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). MBA CRICOS Code is 107332B.

Course Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the MBA will be able to:

Use appropriate technologies and methodologies, review, critically analyse and apply theoretical and practical knowledge, complex information and concepts, and research findings to support and justify enterprise decisions.

Generate innovative, sustainable solutions to complex real world, contemporary enterprise problems.

Interact effectively in diverse teams to deliver outcomes, both as team members and as team leaders, as appropriate to the context.

Effectively communicate complex concepts, relating to the analysis, planning, design and evaluation of responses to enterprise problems to both specialist and non-specialist team members, clients and collaborators using a range of communication modalities as appropriate.

Demonstrate responsible, accountable and ethical behaviour.

Objectively reflect on and evaluate outcomes and feedback for continuous improvement.

Plan and execute a substantial applied business project that requires innovation and integration of knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course.

REQUIREMENTS

The following admission criteria apply to all applicants to courses at APIC that lead to the award of an AQF Level 9 qualification.

Applicants must have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree (AQF 7) or higher, awarded by a recognised university or higher education institution, in any discipline.

Applicants who do not meet these entry requirements but who successfully complete a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma at APIC will be eligible to progress to a Master Degree.

English language requirements

All applicants from a non-English speaking background applying to any postgraduate course at APIC must satisfy the following additional English language requirements:

IELTS Academic: overall band score of 6.5 or higher, with a minimum score of 6.0 in writing and speaking; OR

IBT (Internet-based TOEFL): overall score of 79 with a writing section minimum of 21 and speaking 18; OR

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Overall score 180, writing and speaking 180;OR

Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): Overall 176 with a writing and speaking minimum score of 169; OR

PTE Academic Module with a minimum score of 58 with a writing and speaking section minimum of 50.
