COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification reflects accounting positions in financial services and other industries requiring accounting support functions. This course provides students with basic accounting skills and trains them to use computers in the accounting environment. This course is specially designed for employees who perform duties such as completing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other office taxes, operational reporting, producing basic management and job costing reports, preparing budgets, maintaining inventory records and a payroll system.

FNSACC311 – Process financial transactions and extract interim reports

FNSACC312 – Administer subsidiary accounts and ledgers

BSBITU422 – Use digital technologies to collaborate in the workplace

FNSACC408 – Work effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry

FNSACC414 – Prepare financial statements for non-reporting entities

FNSACC416 – Set up and operate a computerized accounting system

FNSTPB401 – Complete business activity and installment activity statements

FNSTPB402 – Establish and maintain a payroll system

BSBITU402 – Develop and use complex spreadsheets

FNSACC411 – Process business tax requirements

FNSACC405 – Maintain inventory records

BSBTEC302 – Design and produce spreadsheets

FNSACC321 – Process financial transactions and extract interim reports

FNSACC322 – Administer subsidiary accounts and ledgers

FNSACC418 – Work effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry

FNSACC412 Prepare operational budgets

Pathways from the Qualification

Students who gain this qualification can further their study in the FNS50217 Diploma of Accounting or gain employment as a/an:

  • Accounts administrator
  • Accounts clerk
  • Accounts receivable and payable clerk
  • Bookkeeper
  • Payroll clerk.

REQUIREMENTS

Entry Requirements

Students must have satisfactorily completed Australian Year 11 or an equivalent that demonstrates the knowledge and skills to enter the Financial Services sector.

English proficiency requirement:

One of the following English test scores or equivalent must be met:

IELTS overall score of 5.5

TOEFL (iBT) score of 46

PTE Academic score of 45
