COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Graduate Diploma of Information Technology provides students with an enhanced understanding of the techniques and practical aspects of information system development process and equips them to meet the challenges of working in the rapidly changing IT industry with specific skills such as advanced programming, mobile app development, Web development, database application and management, and computer vision fundamentals.
By completing this course, students will acquire comprehensive Information Technology skills, that will enhance their employment opportunities, assist in career development, and allow them to successfully manage future business challenges in IT.
The Graduate Diploma is designed for students with little or no background in information technology but wish to attain a qualification in the IT sector, or who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology. Upon successful completion, students may choose to progress to the higherlevel Master of Information Technology.
To qualify for the award of the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology, a candidate shall:
- Must select 4 units from Level One (with Unit Code of MIT1xx);
- Must select 4 units from Level Two (with Unit Code of MIT2xx).
REQUIREMENTS
An Australian bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with an average mark of 60; or equivalent qualification or
Completion of AITC Graduate Certificate in Information Technology and an average mark of 65 overall or no fails. Units completed in the Graduate Certificate may be able to be credited to the Graduate Diploma in accordance with the RPL policy.
The Graduate Diploma is designed for students with little or no background in information technology but wishing to attain a qualification in this area, or who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology. Students with a Bachelor degree or a GCIT (AITC credits recognised) are eligible to apply for this degree.
English language proficiency
- IELTS Academic – A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each subtest; or
- PTE Academic – A minimum result of 56 overall and a minimum result of 46 in each subtest; or
- TOEFL IBT score – a minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 19 in Writing, 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking; or
- TOEFL PBT score – A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
