This course is designed for those who wish to convert into a different engineering discipline, or from an undergraduate science or technology degree. It provides foundational knowledge, skills and professional competencies for an engineer in your chosen discipline.
You can choose one of the following specialisations:
Chemical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Petroleum Engineering
Software Engineering
What you’ll learn
Apply technical and theoretical knowledge and skills to identify and evaluate innovative solutions to complex engineering problems
Recognise the importance of culture, including that of local First Peoples, and be able to work respectfully and productively across cultures
Analyse contemporary industry needs generate creative and innovative engineering solutions
Apply engineering skills and knowledge, sustainability frameworks, and ethical approaches to address issues of international relevance
Use technology to facilitate problem solving and communicate effective and innovative solutions in an engineering context
Recognise the role of a professional engineer in society and work ethically and morally to develop a professional profile as an engineer.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants require a Bachelor degree or equivalent from a relevant science or engineering discipline for entry into the course.
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) score of 60; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 176; English language bridging (ELB): Grade B; CUTE (Curtin Uni Test of English) – A; IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking – 6.0; Overall band score 6.0; TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 79 (overall) Reading 13 Listening 13 Speaking 18 Writing 21.
