COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a range of community settings and peoples’ homes, who provide support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work according to and may contribute to an individualised plan, and work without direct supervision. They may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.
The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
This qualification enables the student to seek employment in the following job roles:
Community Care Manager, Coordinator of Volunteer Work, Team Leader, Care Team Leader, Family Services Coordinator, Support Facilitator (Community Services), Community Housing Resources Worker.
After completing CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability you may progress to CHC52021 – Diploma of Community Services.
REQUIREMENTS

- The candidate must complete 18yrs of age or older at the time of course commencement.
- Potential candidates may be asked to undertake an LLN Assessment / Enrolment Interview prior to acceptance.
- The candidate needs to ensure that they have completed anyone of the following: –
Australian Year 12 or an equivalent level of schooling or a Certificate III or Higher Qualification with an Australian Institution.
