COURSE DESCRIPTION

WHAT TO EXPECT

This qualification provides you with the skills and knowledge to work as a senior civil works designer or para-professional designer supporting professional engineers.

Graduates will be able to perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex, and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities.

They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements a career in this field can be both creative and rewarding.

Bachelor or Employment

Employment Outcomes

Completion of this course may lead to the following roles:

  • Contracts Manager
  • Civil Design Manager
  • Senior Civil Construction Designer

Students enrolled in this course may also choose to study other courses that will support them in their career or in their training skills. Other options available for students may include the following qualifications:

  • RII60620 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

REQUIREMENTS

  • IELTS overall band of 5.5 or equivalent internationally recognised exam result in line with DIBP regulation
  • Mature aged students will also be considered without the minimum education requirements but with relevant work experience within chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet course requirements.
  • Must be over the age of 18 years at the commencement of the course
  • Original or certified copies of all documents must be submitted with application
