COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification will equip you with high-level skills and knowledge using modern diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems and components.

International students will have the opportunity to complete the program on campus through practical training and assessment and on-the-job placements.
Opportunity exists for 18-month post-study work visa. This makes the student job-ready.

This course is perfect for those working/who have worked in the automotive industry or apprentices to formally recognise their competency via on and off-the-job learning strategies.

Students will learn a range of electrical and electronic diagnostic and repair skills and procedures including:

complex diagnostic skills of different vehicle systems – braking systems, convenience and entertainment systems, engines, air-conditioning

identifying complex faults

repairing electrical circuits

POTENTIAL CAREER PATHWAYS:

Electrical Master Diagnostic Technician

Automotive Lead Master Technician

Automotive Technical Adviser

Further Progression: Students can progress onto the next level of qualification within the college.

We offer the following qualifications:

AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology

or other relevant qualifications

Credits may also include units of competency contained within relevant skill sets and statements of attainment.

REQUIREMENTS

Those undertaking Certificate IV in Automotive Electrical Technology must have completed AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology, or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency.

English Requirements:

IELTS band score of 5.5 (academic test version) or;

TOEFL PBT score of 530 or;

TOEFL CBT score of 197 or;

TOEFL IBT overall score 71 ( No band less than 70) or;

equivalent internationally recognised exam result in line with Department of Home Affairs.
