COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification aims to provide a range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate commercial hospitality operations. The students can gain competencies to operate independently, while having people responsibility and to make a range of operational business decisions. This qualification opens the possibilities to work in any hospitality industry sector as a departmental or small business manager. The diversity of employers includes restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multiskilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.

Possible Job Roles

This qualification provides a pathway to work in various organisations where patisserie products are prepared and served, including patisseries, restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops.

Cafe manager

Chef de cuisine

Chef patissier

Kitchen manager

Restaurant manager

Sous chef

REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 years of age or over

Completed year 12 or Certificate III level or equivalent. Year 10 candidates may be considered in this certificate III level course but subject to individual assessment.

English proficiency equivalent to IELTS overall score of 5.5 Or ACSF Level 4 as assessed by Jabin Hopkins Institute of Technology English Language Literacy Assessment.
