Gain an understanding of foundational concepts of commerce and pursue your passion in one or two key commerce areas. Learn the importance of data-driven decision making and graduate with skills relevant to a large number of industries.
Develop essential job-readiness skills through the work-integrated learning capstone program and network with leading commerce professionals. Broaden your horizons and gain a global perspective by completing one semester at JCU Singapore, or at one of our 52 partnering universities around the world.
Majors
You can choose from six majors. A major is your chosen area of specialisation. While all majors are available Online (or externally), not all majors are available face-to-face at all campuses. The handbook provides details about the subjects you can study within each major and the campus availability for each major.
Accounting
As an accountant, you will contribute to the most critical function of all businesses and organisations — their financial viability. You will learn how to recognise financial patterns and be an efficient problem solver for all businesses in various industries.
Core subjects will give you foundational skills in decision making, analysis and interpreting data for businesses. You will gain an in-depth understanding of financial management, business modelling, company accounting, taxation and auditing.
Banking and Finance
Study funds management, financial markets and risk management. You will learn the different approaches to managing financial institutions, including commercial banks, rural cooperatives and microfinance institutions.
Develop the skills to help businesses develop and thrive, whether they’re government, non-government, private or not-for-profit organisations. With an understanding of international finance and sustainable economic growth, employers will value your theoretical and practical knowledge.
Business Law
Specialise your skills and gain a competitive edge in the fast-paced world of commerce and business.
Learn how to apply key foundational knowledge of business law to the world of commerce. Become an asset to any organisation through your understanding of business in a legal context in the areas of dispute resolution, law of business organisations, taxation law, contract law and employment and industrial relations law. Upon completion, you will be eligible to apply for admission to the Tax Practitioners Board.
Business Law is only available as a second major.
Economics
Develop the skills to predict the behaviour of market participants, including governments, competing businesses and consumers. Become essential to the success of businesses by anticipating the behaviour of market participants.

REQUIREMENTS
Entry requirements vary from country to country. Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12 (or equivalent).
IELTS: 6.0 (no sub score below 6.0), PEARSON (PTE Academic): 52 (no component less than 52), TOEFL ibt: 74 (minimum writing score of 18), ISLPR: At least 3 in each skill area, Cambridge (CP1 Advanced / CP2 Proficiency: 169 (no component less than 169), JCUCEAP: EAP Level 3.
