COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.
These individuals take responsibility for their own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
Career Pathway:
This qualification enables the student to seek employment in the following job roles:
Community services worker
Case manager
Family support worker
Client services manager
Community development officer
Service manager and/or program coordinator
Pathway From Qualification:
After completing CHC52021– Diploma of Community Services you may progress to higher education courses.
REQUIREMENTS
The following are the admission requirements of Lead College:
Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of course commencement
Must have completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent level of schooling
English proficiency is exempted if the applicant has Certificate IV or higher qualification with an Australian institution (for onshore students only)
Must demonstrate English level of IELTS 6.5 with no band less than 6 completed in last 12 months or equivalent, such as:
IBT 60
PTE Academic 58.5 (Listening 56.8, Reading 60.6, Speaking 65.3, Writing 74.1)
CAE 176
OET C+ (300-340)
The applications will be reviewed thoroughly and will be decided on individual basis. Some prospective students may be asked to undertake an LLN assessment or enrolment interview prior to acceptance.
Must have the ability to undertake work placements at two community services organisations.
