COURSE DESCRIPTION
The AVI50519 Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating) is for Commercial Pilot Licence Holders or Advanced Private Pilot Licence Holders.
This course involves advanced flight training for those pilots wishing to improve their qualifications and flying skills and operate an aircraft under Instrument Flying Rules (IFR). Operating an aircraft under IFR allows more flexibility for flying in a wider range of weather conditions. This course is suited for pilots who seek to work as an advanced pilot utilised across a variety of industry fields and provides the student with all the requirements to apply for a CASA Multi Engine Class rating and a Command Instrument Rating upon successful completion of the course.
Requirements For This Course
To apply for enrolment in this course you will need the following:
- To hold a Current Private Pilot Licence (Proficiency Check, Flight Review or recent training to have been conducted within the past 2 years)
- An Australian Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Class 1 Medical from a Designated Authorised Medical Examiner (DAME)
- Aviation English Language Proficiency (Minimum ICAO level 4) Year 12 or equivalent
- Hold a pass in 7 CPL Exams
- 50 Hours Pilot In Command Cross Country time
- Pre-Enrolment Skill and Knowledge Assessment, short SIM session (no charge) & interview
REQUIREMENTS
IREX Course texts and associated charts, maps and equipment which your Flight Instructor will advise.
Students who wish to apply for a VET Student Loan will be required to meet stringent Language, Literacy & Numeracy requirements:
Australian Senior Secondary Certificate, i.e. Year 12 or
Completion of an Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Certificate IV or higher qualification (where the language of instruction is English) or
ACFS Exit level 3 LNN test. (Australian Core Skills Framework)
In addition to this, you must provide evidence that you are an Australian Citizen, Permanent Humanitarian visa holder, or eligible New Zealand SCV Holder
