COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Cert III in Individual Support is a qualification to train people to work in community and residential settings and provide person centred support to people who may require additional care due to ageing, living with disability, or some other reason. The training prepares workers to follow an individualised support plan for the client, often as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Taught by our expert team of highly qualified trainers, the course is suitable for a range of different career pathways providing care services to the elderly, or people living with disability. The Certificate has two possible specialisations, which further qualify participants to work in specific types of care fields. These options are: • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support – Disability • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support – Ageing Support CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support Disability The Disability specialisation provides participants with the skills to work with people who require support due to living with disability. It provides specialised training to assist clients with ongoing skills development (using a strengths-based approach), how to support the person with community participation and social inclusion, and how to work effectively in a disability support role. It’s suitable for a wide range of contexts, from someone who works within a community disability support group through to a professional disability support worker. CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support Ageing Support The Ageing Support specialisation trains students to work with people needing additional care due to advanced age or age-related health issues.
