COURSE DESCRIPTION
The certificate 4 in disability support is a qualification that trains and equips students not only to provide individual support to people living with disability, but to empower them with more independence and self-reliance, encourage community participation and improve their overall well-being. Students are trained to utilise a person-centred approach working with and often contributing to the person’s individualised plan. This may involve connecting clients with community services or service programs, sourcing advocacy and representation services, providing advice on government funding options, or helping them work towards future employment. Graduates of the Cert IV in Disability Support are trained to work without direct supervision, and in some cases may be called upon to coordinate or supervise a small team.
At Solis College, we have our hearts set on becoming one of Australia’s leading RTOs, providing excellent, affordable training to students and leaving a legacy of satisfied, highly qualified graduates each making a positive and lasting difference in their industry and community.
