COURSE DESCRIPTION
Gain the skills and knowledge required to work as carpenter in the building and construction industry. According to the Australian Government’s Job Outlook service, carpentry skills are in demand with employers finding it hard to fill vacancies for qualified carpenters and joiners. This is a very large occupation with around 69,000 job openings expected over the next five years.
In this course, you’ll learn how to construct, install, finish and repair structures and fixtures for residential, commercial and industrial developments. You will work with a range of tools, equipment and materials to construct frames for walls and ceilings, construct pitched and advanced roofs and eaves, and erect and dismantle formwork for footings and slabs on the ground.
This course, delivered by our highly experienced and passionate teachers, will see you graduate with the skills that will allow you to become a qualified carpenter or joiner.

REQUIREMENTS
Academic Requirements: Completion of Year 10 (or equivalent). Non school-leavers must have relevant work experience or qualification that indicates likely success of course completion.
International students who are under 18 years of age and are applying for a student visa are required by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs to have adequate welfare arrangements in place.
Academic IELTS 5.5 (no individual band less than 5.0) or ISLPR 2+ on all skills or other; iBT score of 46 with 8 in Reading /7 in Learning and 18 in writing /16 in speaking; PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) overall score of 42 with Reading /Learning /writing /speaking score of 36; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 162.
