All students of the Bachelor of Science study a set of core interdisciplinary Science courses including experimental design, maths, biology, chemistry and ecology. These courses provide the basis for strong skills in scientific investigation, including data collection and analysis, critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and effective communication and also ensure versatile graduates. These skills are highly sort after by employers and applicable to many workplaces both within and outside of the field of Science.
Building on these core Science courses, you will deepen your study of Science by selecting a Science Stream that matches your interests: Biology & Environment, Environment & Heritage, Human & Medical Science, or Multidisciplinary Science. Each Stream ensures in-depth knowledge and skill development through practical hands-on experience in the classroom, the laboratory, and in the field.

Biology & Environment stream
An understanding of biology and the environment is at the heart of many significant scientific developments, including solutions to global challenges. This Stream equips you with the fundamental skills and knowledge to understand and work with the complexity and diversity of life, from cellular to ecosystem levels.
A strong practical focus gives you valuable hands-on experience of plants and animals from aquatic, coastal and terrestrial settings and introduces you to approaches for the management and welfare of our natural environments.

You can combine this Stream with study in specialist courses such as environmental assessment and spatial analysis to prepare for careers aligned with the monitoring, management and conservation of natural resources.
You can also combine this Stream with more courses in either Environmental Management, Biology or Archaeology to complete a full eight-course Major.
Or you can diversify your career opportunities by combining this Stream with courses in complementary disciplines such as Journalism, Film & Screen Production, Business Studies, Politics and International Relations or Social Justice to form a six-course Minor.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet High school qualifications (or equivalent) to apply for undergraduate program. Academic minimum entry requirements for international applicants vary from country to country.
IELTS (Academic) – 6.5 overall, with no individual band score lower than 6.0; CAE/CPE – 176 overall, with no individual band score lower than 169; PTE Academic – 58 overall, with no individual band score lower than 50; TOEFL (iBT) – 84 overall, with no score lower than 21 in writing and no other band score lower than 17.
