This course is for health professionals who seek to develop their knowledge and skills in health professional education. In addition, students are able to pursue in depth research.
The aim of the Masters course is to extend students beyond the Graduate Certificate and Diploma levels with a greater focus on developing research skills in health professions education.
Course structure
Postgraduate research degrees are identified by an intensive research component.

Apply educational principles and theories to facilitate teaching and learning in health related contexts
Design and critique assessment tools used in the education of health professionals
Apply the principles of research design, including the ability to critique relevant health professions-related educational literature
Apply skills in educational research through an educational research project

REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—(a) the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or Doctor of Medicine from this University, or equivalent as recognised by UWA; or(b) a Bachelor of Dental Science or Doctor of Dental Medicine, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; (c)(i)a bachelor’s degree in a health, biomedical, or biological sciences related discipline from this University or another recognised institution; and(ii) in the case of graduates from a three-year undergraduate degree course, at least one year of professional experience; or(c) completed the Graduate Certificate in Health Professional/Professions Education or the Graduate Diploma in Health Professional/Professions Education from this University with the equivalent of at least 70 per cent in all core units
English language requirements:
TOEFL (paper-based): 570 with a Test of Written English (TWE) of no less than 4.5
IBT TOEFL (Internet-based test score): 82 with 22 for writing, 20 for speaking, 20 for listening, and 18 for reading
IELTS (Academic): overall score of at least 7.0 and no band less than 6.5
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English: C pass
Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English: B grade
Pearson Test of English (PTE) (Academic): Overall score of 64 with a minimum score of 64 in the Reading and Writing sections, 59 in the Speaking section and 54 in the Listening section
